ABOUT THE RELEASE
THE CONCEPT
The lyrics are focused on the Fifth Dimension, which is stated to link to spirituality, connection and higher self, asking the listener to go beyond their current way of thinking and return to the natural state of being.
The abstract production of the original production falls in the Soul and Trip Hop realms; atmospheric, reverberated, deep sub tones, and saturated keys. A dreamy and transcendent state is proposed, with almost the essence of a guided meditation. Although produced at 99 BPM, this song delivers at half-time, pushing further towards the intended 'state' of the audience.
Vocally, the approach is quite ambient, simple motifs, with trance-like patterns.
DOWNTEMPO ELEMENT:AIR REMIX
The remix takes a new turn and features a ‘response’ to the instructive content of the original lyrics, as though in receipt of the instruction(s) and the effect that they bring on a being. The contrast in vocals sets a strong juxtaposition.
Starting with the structured and precise tones from Vélysii (Ether), followed/joined by the ‘response’ and ‘effect’ portrayed by Mercy (Air), the song presents a suggestion of the illumination and trancendence that would be accessed when following the almost ‘guided meditation’ tone of the song.
The opposing vocal and lyrical content showcases unison between both the higher self and the Self, when ego is redirected away from the third dimension and towards the fifth. The joint lyrical concept is empowering and symbolises the effect of connectivity to self and other through spiritual and transcendental means.

UKG ELEMENT:AIR REMIX
Alongside this original production is the UKG remix, taking the essence of the song to another level and contrasting the mellow, positive and uplifting vocals to another 'dimension' of the fifth kind.
The UKG mix mixes the ethereal vocals with a catchy baseline, the classic UKG drums and percussion, and chords reminiscent of the timeless UKG from the early 00's.
At a healthy 130 bpm, the vocals maintain their smooth and soulful tones, but set themselves up for a more extroverted journey.

Vélysii
Vélysii (previously known as Saffire D'Soul) is a vocalist, lyricist and producer from London, UK. Her musical expression has spanned across RnB, Soul, TripHop, UKG, DnB and House, with previous musical works being supported and played by MiSoul Radio, In2Beats FM, Cruise FM, Pulse London, All FM, Unique FM, Cardiff Radio, Unity FM, Genesis FM, Sheffield Live, Dice FM, DeJa Vu FM, Demon FM, Fire 107.6 FM, Diverse FM, Heightz Live FM, Deep FM, BBC Three Counties, and more.
She has worked collaboratively with a wide range of talented musicians including NDread, Versa, Inkarv, Menik, Jermaine Lee (Dumplin/Pypz), Kenny Hectyc, ICU Audio, Deep Heads, Mario Blax, Synkro, MTD London, FT/MaschineMan Tim, and others, as well as performing live on Deja Vu Live, BBC Three Counties and at Bedford River Festival.
After taking a break from the industry for a few years to focus on teaching music, Vélysii is back, newly rebranded, moving towards a more conscious, sensual and spiritual approach to lyricism, with a focus now on the 360º approach to her expression, taking full artist control of all works. Fifth Dimension is one of the newest songs from a collection of works coming in 2024.
MERCY
LEVETT
A Birmingham based singer songwriter, Mercy Levett, has been working in the music industry for the past 10 years. As a vocalist, she started off singing in classical and gospel choirs alike before forming the Northern Irish Folk/soul fusion band, Grace and Mercy, in 2014.
In 2017 she is was a finalist in a national songwriting competition and was given the opportunity for a year long mentorship programme with Future Productions to hone her craft. Since then she has had a solo career performing in different setting as a backing vocalist, vocal arranging for choirs and groups and writing with different artist. Her eclectic musical background has shaped her distinct style and approach to writing which has allowed her to be recognised as an artist.
This year she was accepted on to the Tileyard MA Commercial songwriting and Audio Production course where she has the opportunity to widen her music connections and gain more industry experience.
