Since studying music in 2002, back in East London, Vélysii has predominantly leaned towards creating within the soul and RnB genres when writing original music.

With significant influence coming from Sade, Erykah Badu, Faith Evans, Amel Larrieux, SWV, Aaliyah, Cleo Sol, Lion Babe, and countless more, Vélysii combines this inspiration, with her own signature style, tone and expression. HOUSE AND GARAGE

Originally a soul/R&B artist, interest grew when remixes were created for each of the promotional singles and heard by a range of DJs nationwide.

With such response, Vélysii decided that for each song, there would be a re-recorded and arranged vocal for the songs, to make sure that they were regarded as unique and not just a 'spinoff'.

To the right, you can hear a handful of the most played songs and ones that stand up in their own right.

Notable releases include the Dumplin Remix of 'Calling For You', which stands at over a modest 180K+ plays on Soundcloud alone and received significant positive reviews from radio and live play across the UK.

TRXP: PREVIEW

Coming in 2024, Vélysii is releasing a collection of works entitled 'TRXP', spanning from Trip-Hop, Soul, and Alternative RnB.

The songs are inspired by the senses - sensual and the sixth sense; focusing on the place between being and not-being, removing the self and connecting with higher Self and other.

Vélysii will be inviting her listeners to take a 'TRXP' to different moods, states, times and dimensions, where she will be setting the sound-scene.

Expect to want to connect, disconnect; to question the world around you; to turn off the lights; to open all three eyes; to make change; to come back for more.

A fan of double-meaning, hidden messages and suggestive tones, Vélysii will be using her words wisely to provoke thought and action amongst her listeners, but leaving a space for your consciousness to fill in the gaps.

Combining the signature harmonics, and smooth and ethereal voice that Vélysii is known for, she will also be reintroducing her 'other' voice and lower register for the more demanding songs, symbolic of saying it 'with your chest'.

Born in London, UK, Vélysii has been working in the industry as a Vocalist, Lyricist, Producer and Music Teacher for over a decade.

After a break from the industry, focusing on teaching, and completing a Masters (MA) in Commercial Songwriting and Production, Vélysii is now back and focusing on music, and is set to release a completely new collection of works, fully written, recorded and produced single-handedly.

She defines her new sound as 'hyper-sensual', that is, focusing on the senses in their heighted state, with special focus on the sixth, where consciousness, intuition and foresight reside.

Combining elements most associated with Trip-Hop, as well as releasing UKG/House versions, the new projects are set to showcase a hybrid style with Vélysii's signature sound.

PROCLAIM
KNOWLEDGE

Vélysii has collaborated on a range of projects including one as part of the Proclaim Knowledge collective, with NDread, Versa and Inkarv on their self titled release, found on Bandcamp, and due to be officially released on all DSPs in 2025.

Vélysii has also collaborated with Menik, Kenny Hectyc, Digital Dubstar, Jermaine Lee (Dumplin/Pypz), Jafu, Mercy Levett, Tuff Culture, RSH, Scott & Nick, Pud & Dan, Rare Candy, MTD London, and many more.
